Memphis, Tennessee. King was a black genius who influenced
younger white superstars such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric
Clapton. As their careers flourished, so did his. A lefty who
played a right-handed guitar, King pulled the strings that
others pushed, in a uniquely emphatic style.
